It’s time for our daily ANIMAL HOUSE SHOWCASE feature!
A growing Ontario dog rescue organization is helping hundreds of dogs find safe homes with the support of volunteers and foster families across the province.
Pawsitively Furever is a registered non-profit and charity that works with foster homes from Sarnia to Ottawa. The rescue is fully volunteer-run and relies entirely on donations to care for dogs in need.
Executive Director Paige Chambers says the organization has helped more than 700 dogs over the past two years.
The rescue brings dogs into foster care, provides needed veterinary care, and works to find them permanent homes.
Chambers says many rescue dogs need time to adjust to new surroundings, routines, and people after entering care. She says patience and flexibility are important for foster families while the dogs settle in.
The organization says foster homes are always its biggest need, but there are many other ways people can help, including volunteering at events, transporting animals, sponsoring dogs, or donating supplies and money.
