Danica Pfohl, Manager of the Wingham location of Wholesome Raw, shared how the business was created after seeing a need for pet food made with fewer ingredients and better nutrition.
Wholesome Raw uses human-grade meats sourced from Huron County, including pork, beef, turkey, duck, and lamb, to create raw pet food designed to support overall animal health.
Pfohl says many pet owners notice benefits after switching their pets to raw food, including shinier coats, cleaner teeth, more energy, better weight management, and improved overall health.
She says the business works closely with customers to help match pets with the right food based on their individual needs, whether they are dealing with allergies, weight concerns, or age-related health issues.
Pfohl says there are still some common misconceptions about raw feeding, especially around cleanliness and safety. She says proper food handling and cleaning pet bowls daily are important, just as they are with any type of pet food.
She adds that Wholesome Raw focuses on helping pet owners better understand what their animals need and making it easier to choose healthy options.
