Race fans can get ready for another action-packed summer as the 2026 season is set to begin at Grand Bend Speedway and Go-Kart Centre.
Owner and operator Tabitha Van Bruwaene told myFM about the upcoming season.
One of the biggest highlights this season will be the Tri-State Sprint Series from the United States, which is set to race at the speedway on August 1st, with a rain date scheduled for August 2nd.
Van Bruwaene says Grand Bend is continuing to build its reputation as Canada’s home for asphalt sprint car racing. The season will feature several divisions, ranging from youth micro sprints to powerful V8 sprint cars, along with late models, super late models, compact cars, trucks, and more.
A brand-new division called Kid Stock is also being introduced this year, giving younger racers the chance to compete in specially modified stock cars built for youth drivers.
There will also be several special themed events throughout the summer, including a Father’s Day celebration featuring a go-kart race for dads, Kids Night with a special youth kart race, memorial race nights, and a Local Celebrities Night planned for August 15th.
The speedway’s popular go-kart track is already open on weekends and will move to daily operation in June.
Van Bruwaene says no reservations are needed, and drivers as young as five can get behind the wheel after receiving training.
Visitors will also notice something new at the facility this year, a free petting zoo rescue ranch.
Van Bruwaene says the rescue ranch started with the adoption of a pig and has grown into a home for several rescued animals, including goats, ducks, geese, a mini horse, peacocks, and more.
The speedway diner is also open for the season, offering pizza, snacks, nachos, and ice cream.
Van Bruwaene says she is most looking forward to welcoming families, race fans, and visitors back for another busy summer of fun at the track.
