Golfers and community members are being invited to tee off for a good cause as the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre prepares for its sixth annual golf tournament.
The fundraiser will take place on Saturday, June 13th at the Seaforth Golf Club with a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start.
Executive Director Chris Allen says the event continues to grow each year and helps support food programs across the region.
This year’s tournament will feature a hole-in-one contest with an exciting prize.
The cost to register is $150 per golfer or $600 for a team. The fee includes golf, lunch, and dinner. Allen says you don’t need to be a seasoned golfer to join the fun.
Allen says the event is about more than golf, giving people a chance to come together, have fun, and support an important cause in the community.
Allen says all money raised will go directly back into helping provide food to local families.
Allen noted the demand for support continues to grow across the region. Approximately, $4.25 million dollars worth of food has been given out by the centre in the last 12 months.
The organization is also looking for more volunteers and drivers to help with food deliveries and sorting at the distribution centre.
The tournament will take place rain or shine.
