Residents and visitors will once again have access to seasonal transit between Sarnia and Grand Bend as the Route 1 Express Bus returns for the summer.
The service was created to meet increased seasonal demand and provide riders with a later return trip from Grand Bend to Sarnia.
The route includes stops in Sarnia, Forest, Port Franks, and Grand Bend, making it easier for residents and tourists to travel between communities.
Transit officials say a six-passenger minivan will operate alongside the regular Route 1 bus this year due to a significant decrease in international student ridership.
The service runs on Saturdays and Sundays throughout June. During July and August, it expands to operate from Thursday through Monday.
Riders can choose from two round trips each day. A separate schedule will be used in July and August to accommodate later summer business hours.
Stops along the route include Lambton College, Lambton Mall, Forest Library, Lakeshore Road at Grogs, Ontario Street South at No Frills, and Sobeys Plaza.
Full route details, schedules, and stop information are available through Huron Shores Area Transit Express Bus Information.
