The Municipality of South Huron has provided an update on the ongoing construction project on Main Street in Exeter.
Crews continued installing sanitary services and the main storm sewer line last week. Work scheduled for this week includes completing the main storm sewer installation and continuing work on catch basins, storm services, and sanitary services.
Road construction will also continue, with crews excavating and placing gravel road base as needed to maintain access through the construction zone.
Traffic restrictions remain in place. Northbound traffic will continue to use a single lane on Main Street, while southbound traffic is being detoured along Church Street and William Street. The detour will remain in effect until construction on the west side of Main Street is complete.
Municipal officials remind residents that businesses remain open during construction and access to homes and businesses will be maintained as much as possible.
Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time while work continues. The municipality is thanking residents and businesses for their patience and cooperation throughout the project.
