Students pursuing careers in environmental and conservation-related fields have an opportunity to receive financial assistance through the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority’s annual Student Environmental Grant program.

The grant is open to graduating high school students as well as those already enrolled in college or university programs connected to environmental stewardship and natural resource management. Eligible areas of study include biology, ecology, geography, forestry, agriculture, fish and wildlife management, and outdoor education.
Applicants must be between 17 and 25 years of age and maintain a permanent residence within one of the municipalities served by the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority. Eligible communities include Adelaide Metcalfe, Bluewater, Central Huron, Huron East, Lambton Shores, Lucan Biddulph, Middlesex Centre, North Middlesex, Perth South, South Huron, Warwick and West Perth.
Since the program was introduced in 2010, 14 students from across the watershed have received funding to help further their environmental education and career goals.
