The South Huron Hospital Foundation is celebrating a successful evening after its 17th Annual Gala raised $557,000 in support of local healthcare.
The event was held on Friday, June 5th, at the South Huron Recreation Centre and brought together community members for an evening of food, entertainment, and fundraising.
A major highlight of the evening was the “Fund-a-Need” portion of the event, which raised $175,000 in just five minutes.
The Foundation has also committed $150,000 toward renovating a Patient Safe Room in the hospital’s emergency department. Officials say the current hospital setup does not include a dedicated mental health emergency room, even though such care is needed several times a week. The new space will help improve safety and support more compassionate care for both patients and staff.
