Fluoride levels in the Lambton Area Water Supply System (LAWSS) have returned to normal following a temporary interruption caused by scheduled maintenance.
Officials say the work on the fluoridation system has now been completed and fluoride levels in the municipal water supply are back at optimal levels. Drinking water remained safe throughout the maintenance period and continues to meet all required safety standards.
Health officials note that maintaining the right level of fluoride in drinking water is a safe and effective way to help prevent tooth decay and support good oral health.
Lambton Public Health is thanking LAWSS for its continued investment in water fluoridation and its support for communities across the region, including Sarnia, Point Edward, St. Clair Township, and Lambton Shores.
Lambton Public Health also reminds residents that oral health programs are available for eligible children and seniors. More information can be found by calling 519-383-8331, extension 3531.
