The Municipality of Bluewater has put a partial fire ban in place because of current weather conditions and poor air quality.
Until conditions improve, no controlled burn permits will be issued. This includes permits for open-air fires and agricultural burning.
Recreational campfires and cooking fires are still allowed. However, Bluewater Fire Services is strongly encouraging residents to avoid having these fires until the weather and air quality improve.
The municipality says updates will be posted on its website and social media pages as conditions change.
People living outside of Bluewater are encouraged to check with their local municipality to see if fire restrictions are in place in their area.
