Today we are looking at Robyn and Tylor VanKessel.
The VanKessels own an organic egg farm that they started in 2011. The couple bought their first farm before they were married and worked hard to pay it off before expanding their operation.
Tylor grew up on a farm, while Robin says she grew up in town and has been learning about farm life ever since.
Today, the couple’s three sons help with chores around the farm, including caring for the barns, cutting grass, and watering trees.
Robyn spends much of her time handling office work, while Tylor checks each barn every day to make sure the hens have food, water, and the right temperature.
The VanKessels say farming is a full-time job that happens every day of the year, including holidays. They say anyone interested in farming needs patience, a strong work ethic, and a love for caring for animals.
