The Huron County Museum is inviting families to enjoy a summer of movies with a new series that pairs modern favourites with classic films.
Every Wednesday from August 5th to September 2nd, the museum will show a recent blockbuster at 11 a.m., followed by a classic movie at 2 p.m. in its air-conditioned theatre.
The lineup includes:
August 5th: Superman (2025) and Superman (1978)
August 12th: Wonka (2023) and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)
August 19th: The Greatest Showman (2017) and Grease (1978)
August 26th: Dune: Part Two (2024) and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
September 2nd: Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019) and Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
The screenings are included with regular museum admission, which is free for anyone with a Huron County Library card or a museum membership. Visitors can watch one movie or stay for both.
The museum says the screenings are designed to be family-friendly and relaxed, making them welcoming for children and anyone who may need to move around during the film. No registration is required.
Snacks and drinks are allowed in the theatre and lobby, and candy and pop will be available for purchase at the museum gift shop. Visitors are asked not to bring peanut or tree nut products into the museum to help keep the space safe for people with food allergies.
