The OPP is reminding residents that electric motorcycles and dirt bikes are treated like gas-powered vehicles under Ontario law. They must follow the rules for licensing, registration, permits and insurance where required.
Parents and guardians are also reminded that children under 16 cannot operate powered or power-assisted bikes, motorcycles, dirt bikes or e-bikes on roads, sidewalks or the town’s trail system.
Parents could face charges if they allow an unlicensed person to operate a motor vehicle.
