The Port Franks Optimist Club’s annual Cornfest is bringing the community together for an evening of food, fun and summer tradition.
Club President Lou Anne MacDonald says the event is a chance for friends, neighbours and families to come together and celebrate the end of summer.
There will also be plenty of activities, including volleyball, axe throwing, tug of war, horseshoes, giant games and face painting. Local musician Frank Garcia will provide live music on the saxophone.
The fire department is also expected to be a big attraction, with its equipment, trucks and an obstacle course for kids.
MacDonald says Cornfest is an important tradition in the community and a chance for people to catch up with friends and neighbours.
She noted she is excited to see everyone at the fest.
The event is free for everyone and will run from 4 to 7 p.m on August 22nd. It will be held rain or shine, with activities moved indoors if needed.
