Bean Fest is returning to Zurich this weekend, bringing a full schedule of food, music, classic cars and family fun.
The festival gets started Friday at 5 p.m. with food trucks and the midway. Bean Fest Committee Member Heidi Klopp says there is a new event this year.
Friday night will also feature the Beanstalk Dance, with local band Tasty News taking the stage at 7:30 p.m. The beer tent will also be open for those 19 and older.
Saturday will be packed with activities. The day starts with a pancake and sausage breakfast at the arena, while the classic car show gets underway at 8 a.m. There will be a street market, food trucks and the midway downtown. The popular smoked pork chop and bean dinners will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Music will run on the main stage from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., including a Battle of the Bands starting at 5 p.m.
Families can also enjoy the popular frog jumping contest, while the dunk tank returns Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.
Klopp says the festival is an important fundraiser for the community.
This year’s festival is the 59th edition.
Organizers are always looking for more volunteers and community groups to get involved.
