South Huron residents now have a better idea of who they could be voting for in the 2026 municipal election.
The nomination period ended on Friday (August 21st) and now we know all the individuals running for South Huron council as an October election looms.
There are thee people running for mayor. They are incumbent George Finch, incumbent Ward 3 councillor Ted Oke, and Maureen Cole
Incumbent Deputy Mayor Jim Dietrich is the lone candidate for Deputy Mayor.
The race for Ward 1 has four candidates after Patti Desjardine-Soer withdrew from the election. The candidates are Dianne Faubert, Emilly Girodat, Wendy McLeod-Haggitt incumbent for Ward 2 and incumbent councillor Marissa Vaughan.
Ward 2 has four candidates running for council, Daryl Demaray, Laura Goulding, Antonio Munion and incumbent councillor Aaron Neeb.
There are two candidates running for the Ward 3 council seat, Darren Boyle and Paul Passmore. Dianne Faubert had also entered the Ward 3 race but has since withdrawn.
The list remains unofficial until it is certified by the clerk!
