Bluewater residents can now get affordable native trees through a new partnership between Festival Hydro, the Municipality of Bluewater and the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority.
The Tree Power Program is available only to Bluewater residents and is designed to help grow the community’s trees and green spaces.
Residents can order trees online until Thursday, September 24th, while supplies last.
Trees can be picked up Saturday, September 26th, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Zurich Ball Diamond parking lot.
The program encourages residents to plant native trees that can provide shade, improve air quality and help reduce energy use over time.
Residents who want to plant a tree on public property, such as a boulevard, park or trail, are asked to contact the Municipality of Bluewater first for approval.
For more information about the program, residents can contact the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority.
