Here’s what’s going on in Exeter Grand Bend over the next 48 hours.

TODAY: Knitting Circle 5:45 pm – 7:00 pm Knit, relax and meet fellow knitters each week at the Blyth Branch. All are welcome to drop into this free program to knit together and share tips and tricks. This is a casual, community-led gathering—not a staff-run program—so attendance may vary.

TODAY: Stroller Strides – Indoor Walking Group. Looking for a relaxed, stroller-friendly way to stay active? Join our FREE Stroller Strides Indoor Walking Group at the South Huron Recreation Centre! This program takes place on Mondays beginning October 19th – December 14th from 1:00pm – 2:00pm. Enjoy a comfortable indoor walk designed for caregivers and little ones – perfect for gentle movement, connection, and consistency!

TODAY: Public Skating (STA). FREE public skating at the Stephen Arena on Monday & Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 3:50 PM. No pre registration required, skate aids are available.

Public Skating Rules:

Maintain reasonable control of your speed, course and direction. Do not skate in groups. Do not stop where you obstruct other skaters.
No speed skating, figure skating maneuvers or hockey equipment such as sticks and pucks are allowed on the ice.
Parents/Guardians must be within sight and control of their children. Do no leave children unattended.
Ice skates required – no street shoes.
Ice skates are sharp. Do not have your hands on the floor or on the ice where they can be stepped on by a blade.
Children aged 10 and under must wear a CSA-certified hockey helmet at all times. Helmets are strongly recommended for all other participants.
Maintain a proper lookout to avoid other skaters, objects, or conditions on the ice surface. Report any hazards to arena staff.
No skating while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or other control impairing substances.
Leave the ice surface when resurfacing maintenance is taking place. Keep exits clear and do not sit on the dasher boards. Before getting on the rink, look for oncoming skaters.
No food or drink on the rink surface or surrounding dasher or cap rail.
Do not carry children or items while skating.
No headphones are to be worn or use of PDA’s or cellular phones used while skating.
Do not act in a manner that may cause or contribute to injury of yourself or any other person.
Do not throw or leave objects on the rink surface.
Report any injuries or accidents to staff prior to leaving the facility.

TOMORROW: Tech Time 9:30 am – 10:30 am Join us at the Blyth Branch for Tech Time support to receive one-on-one help with library e-resources, your devices, and/or your email account. Lessons are limited to the technical knowledge of library staff. This is for participants that are 8 and older.

TOMORROW: Pop-up Crafty Kids Club. Join us at the Dashwood Community Centre for Pop-up Youth Crafty Kids Club on October 6th, from 4:00pm – 4:45pm. Participants will make a suncatcher and fall themed puzzle to bring home!
