Work on Exeter’s Main Street is continuing, with curb installation now complete on the east side of the road.
The Municipality of South Huron says crews have also continued preparing the road base and have started testing and preparing the new watermain for use.
This week, crews are expected to connect the new watermain and transfer water services once testing is complete.
After all watermain work is finished, crews will move on to paving the east side of Main Street. Sidewalk installation will follow.
One lane of traffic in each direction will remain open on Main Street until all work on the east side of the road is complete. Drivers should expect delays and plan extra time when travelling through the construction area.
The municipality says local businesses remain open, and access to homes and businesses will be maintained as reasonably as possible throughout construction.
South Huron is thanking residents, businesses and visitors for their patience as the work continues.
