Kindergarten registration is now open for families across the Grand Erie District School Board.
Parents and caregivers can register children born in 2023 for the 2027-28 school year. Registration can be completed online or at any of Grand Erie’s 58 elementary schools across Brantford, Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk.
Grand Erie says its Kindergarten program uses purposeful play and engaging learning experiences to help children explore their interests, ask questions and solve problems.
Dr. JoAnna Roberto, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Education Officer, says the program also helps young students build confidence, curiosity and skills that will support them as they grow.
She says the board is excited to welcome its youngest students and wants every child to feel a sense of belonging as they begin their K-12 journey.
Families can visit Grand Erie’s website ( https://granderie.ca/kindergarten ) for registration details, including information about home schools, required documents, transportation and the Kindergarten program.
Once registered, families can also sign up for Kickstart to Kindergarten ( https://granderie.ca/kindergarten/kick-start-to-kindergarten ) events, designed to help children prepare for their transition into school.
