Two local athletes are earning recognition for their performances with the Fanshawe Falcons this season.
Exeter’s Aydin Dalrymple and Clinton’s Holden Heipel were among the athletes honoured by the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) for the 2026 season.
Dalrymple, a first-year pitcher and shortstop on the women’s softball team, was named an OCAA Second Team All-Star and earned a spot on the OCAA All-Rookie Team.
She made 13 appearances as a pitcher, recording a 2.39 earned run average and 98 strikeouts. Dalrymple also contributed at the plate, collecting 11 runs batted in, and stole 12 bases during the season.
Heipel, a second-year utility player on the men’s baseball team, was named OCAA Player of the Year and a First Team All-Star.
The Clinton native made an impact both at the plate and on the mound. He finished the season with a .346 batting average, seven extra-base hits and 13 stolen bases. As a pitcher, he recorded four wins and a 0.67 earned run average.
Heipel is only the second player in Fanshawe men’s baseball history to receive the OCAA Player of the Year award. The last Falcons player to earn the honour was in 2016.
The Falcons also received several other awards. Seven additional baseball players earned OCAA All-Star honours, while head coach Brian Harvey was named Coach of the Year after leading the team to a program-best 17-1 record.
The awards recognize the players’ strong seasons and the success of the Fanshawe Falcons across both softball and baseball.
