More residents headed to the polls in several local communities during the 2026 municipal election compared to the last election in 2022.
South Huron recorded a voter turnout of 48.1 per cent, up from 44.5 per cent in 2022.
In Bluewater, 38.8 per cent of eligible voters cast a ballot, compared to 31 per cent four years ago.
Lucan-Biddulph also saw an increase, with 47.3 per cent of registered voters taking part in this year’s election, up from 45.13 per cent in 2022.
The increases come after Ontario recorded a record-low voter turnout of 32.9 per cent in the 2022 municipal election.
The results show voter turnout increased in all three municipalities compared to the previous municipal election.
