Three people are facing drug trafficking charges following an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigation in Simcoe earlier this week.
Members of the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP Community Street Crime Unit executed search warrants at two properties on Stanley Street shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3.
Police say three people were taken into custody without incident after officers entered one of the residences.
During searches of both properties and the individuals involved, officers seized suspected cocaine, MDMA, also known as ecstasy, and psilocybin, commonly known as magic mushrooms.
Police also recovered a prohibited weapon, Canadian cash and items believed to be connected to drug trafficking.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Norfolk County resident faces four charges, including three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
A 27-year-old Norfolk County resident and a 22-year-old Haldimand County resident each face three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
All three accused were held in custody and were scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe for bail hearings on Wednesday, November 4.
