An arrest has been made in connection with the assault of a police officer.
A member of the Anishinabek Police Service stopped a man on West Ipperwash Road for an alleged Liquor
License Act violation.
Police say the suspect gave a false name then tried to get away on a bicycle.
There was a brief struggle between the man and the officer – both fell to the ground. Police say the officer was kicked in the face and the suspect escaped.
OPP from Lambton County was asked to help search the area. A tracking dog led police to a cottage on London Road in Lambton Shores. Police say they found the suspect inside and arrested him.
The unidentified 18-year-old is said to be from Paris, Ontario. He’s been released from custody and ordered to appear in court at a later date.
