A young woman is facing criminal charges including driving while impaired after a two-year-old was injured.
Early Tuesday night, first responders went to a residence in Auburn.
A child was assessed by paramedics then taken to hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.
OPP say the child was one of several people in a passenger van when they fell out of the moving vehicle through the rear hatch – and onto the roadway.
An on the spot sobriety test and two more screenings for blood alcohol at an OPP detachment – concluded the driver was too intoxicated to operate a vehicle.
The 30-year-old from Goderich has been released from custody and will appear in court in Goderich at the end of the month.
