The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society are reminding pet owners humidity and heat can lead to disastrous results for your loved pets.
The SPCA issued a warning on Thursday (July 18) as temperatures and humidity across the province increase reminding those to not leave your pet alone in the car under any circumstances.
They say if you can’t take them with you wherever you’re travelling, leave them at home where they’re safe and can stay cool.
The SPCA also reminds you your pets should only be outside for short period of times in the heat and when they are, ensure they have enough water and a cool place out of direct sunlight.
Going for walks in the early morning or late evening is also suggested to avoid heat exhaustion. For more tips to keep pets cool, visit Nohotpets.ca
