Charges are being laid to an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh man. This after Huron County OPP spotted a pick up truck heading north on Victoria Street in Goderich going at a high rate of speed around 2:45 Saturday morning (20th).
It was later seen crossing into the southbound lanes as it continued up the road eventually heading north on Highway 21.
The pickup pulled into a roadside restaurant just north of Goderich where OPP officers arrested the driver.
An investigation revealed that the driver was impaired by drug use. He was taken to the detachment to conduct a drug evaluation but the driver refused to cooperate.
A 42-year-old man is facing a number of charges including dangerous driving and will appear in a Goderich court August 19th.
In the meantime, his pick up truck was impounded and license was suspended for 90 days.
