Ontario Provincial Police will be dedicated to Operation Safe Trucking this week (August 18th – 24th). This annual campaign focuses on enforcing the rules of the road and moving violations, specifically for commercial motor vehicles (CMV).
Sgt Kerry Schmidt reveals some staggering numbers and reminds us to always be careful especially around larger vehicles.
The OPP reminds the public that officers will be focusing on offences such as impaired driving, distracted driving, follow too close, other moving violations, speeding, non-compliance with inspection, equipment and hours of service laws, as well as load security.
