School buses will be back on the road every morning and afternoon for the next 9 months. With that in mind, the OPP want to remind you to follow the rules of the road regarding them.
OPP Constable Chad Murray says that the rule for stopping behind a school bus with flashing lights is a no-brainer.
Murray says that the OPP can’t say “stop for school buses” enough, especially during the start of the school year when kids are less accustomed to getting on and off the bus.
He also stressed that fines are very strict for passing a school bus with lights on, with the penalty for a first offence carrying a minimum of a $400 fine and 6 demerit points,
