Eco Exeter is going strong. The group which formed last year at South Huron District High School will utilize grade 10 students who helped run the program last year, as well as new grade 9 students and event some grade 12 students.
Eco Exeter is holding two sets of information meetings on Thursday, September 12, with one taking place from 9:30 until 11:30 and the other running from 12:30 until 2:30.
Amanda Keller is a teacher at South Huron District High School and helps students run the program, and she says Eco Exeter is looking to raise more awareness on Thursday by bringing other local school and community partners together.
Break out sessions will be put on by the ABCA, Bluewater Recycling, Huron County Health Unit, and by Mike and Michelle Hanson, from Hanson’s Your Independent Grocer.
Keller says the group has lots of ideas moving forward, and the reusable bags and straw sales are doing well so they are looking for ways to use the proceeds.
Anyone interested in attending the session is asked to RSVP by email amanda.keller@ed.amdsb.ca or call the high school at (519)-235-0880
