$1.633 million…that’s the goal of this year’s Perth Huron United Way fundraising campaign. The goal is 11 percent higher than last year, but the community is seeing a great need.
Executive Director Ryan Erb says that $240 thousand dollars has been raised already, and if targets are met it will mean a new homelessness program in Goderich, a social isolation program in St. Marys and poverty reduction across the region.
Erb says the United Way wants to bring some issues to light.
Last year roughly 32 thousand people and 48 organizations were supported by the United Way locally. Anyone looking to find out how to donate can find details on our website.
