Jesse McCormick is running for the MP seat in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex for the Liberals. McCormick grew up just outside of Mt. Brydges and spent years studying law working to advance environmental protection and the rights and interests of Indigenous people.
Politically, McCormick has most recently been the director of policy and Indigenous relations for Minister of Environment and Climate Change Catherine McKenna. That type of work is something he says if elected he will continue to develop.
McCormick says he will be logging lots of kilometres over the coming weeks meeting people but also emphasized the importance of a strong volunteer base.
He feels his experience in Ottawa gives him a leg up because he understands what it takes to shape policies while meeting the interest for those in your riding.
McCormick is running against Lianne Rood for the Conservatives, Anthony Li for the Green party, Dylan McLay for the NDP, Rob Lalonde for the Veterans Coalition Party of Canada and Bria Atkins for the Peoples Party of Canada.
