Unemployment in the Perth-Huron-Bruce-Grey region is the lowest in the province. September’s rate dropped about 0.1 point to 4.2%, compared to the provincial average of 5.8%.
These stats come from the Four County Labour Market Planning Board, who also reports overall employment in the area went up by about 1,000. They say part-time job gains offset losses in full-time jobs.
There’s also 400 more Goods-producing sector employees in the Stratford-to-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region. Employment in the services-producing sector fell by 600.
These gains were offset by losses in educational services, and accommodation and food services
