A two-vehicle collision that took place yesterday morning (Wednesday) just east of Blyth has resulted in the death of a Morris-Turnberry resident. At about 8:40 am, Huron County OPP, paramedic services, and the Blyth Fire Department responded to the crash scene located on Blyth Road.
The driver and sole occupant of a pickup truck was transported from the scene to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The deceased has been identified as 69 year old Lawrence Everett from Morris-Turnberry.
The investigation determined he was travelling east on Blyth Road when he collided with the rear end of a heavy tow truck that was travelling in the same direction.
The driver of the tow truck was uninjured. Blyth Road was re-opened around 5pm last night (Wednesday).
