Over 100 lives have been saved thanks to the OPP using naloxone. Police say 66 percent of the naloxone recipients were male, while the early 30s is the average age for naloxone recipients.
Officers have seen a 121 percent increase of overdoses attended by the OPP from 2016 to 2018. The majority of opioid-related overdoses have occurred in the Central and West Regions of Ontario.
