Huron County OPP have charged a Listowel resident with Careless Driving Causing Death stemming from a fatal motor vehicle crash that took place this past summer.
On July 16th, Huron OPP officers, Huron County Paramedic Services and Howick Fire Department attended the scene of a two vehicle crash located on Amberley Road west of Molesworth.
The investigation of the collision, done by the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team, has determined the defendant was driving a pickup truck westbound on Amberley Road when his vehicle crossed the centre line into the path of an oncoming dump truck.
The dump truck driver, 55-year-old Paul Douglas from Howick Township died as a result of the collision.
On Friday (Nov 22), OPP charged 24 year old Travis Bender from Listowel with Careless Driving Causing Death. He now has a scheduled court appearance on December 17th in Goderich.
