Support for Jessica’s House in South Huron is alive and well. Over 300 people packed the South Huron Recreation Centre recently for the first annual Jessica’s House Handbags for Hospice.
Co-Chair for the Handbag for Hospice event Patti Down says it was a very successful event that raised over $60 thousand dollars.
Down says the funding dollars are important as Jessica’s House doesn’t get government funding.
The $60 thousand will go towards a lift at Jessica’s House as well as operation costs since the local hospice doesn’t receive government funding.
Since inception Jessica’s House has supported over 50 families from around the area with a good number coming from South of the municipality.
