myFM is shining the light on an important United Way Perth-Huron partner
The Huron County Women’s Shelter is located in Goderich which can house up to 19 individuals on an emergency basis and they also have three second-stage facilities throughout the county.
Director of Community Engagement Laura Scott says there’s still such an unfortunate high rate of domestic violence in Canada and it often leads to other issues.
Scott says they’re so lucky to be a partner with United Way who help them with utility costs and costs associated with the counselling services they offer children and women.
