Don’t drink and drive. It’s a message we have heard many times, but in the first couple weeks of January alone there have been three drivers charged with impaired driving.
On January 2nd officers were called to a single-vehicle crash on Airport Line near Kirkton Road. The driver fled the heavily damaged car and was picked up by police in Crediton at a property. Breath samples led to an impaired driving charge for a 34-year-old Crediton man.
A RIDE check on Ontario Street in Grand Bend on January 3rd lead to drug charges for a 16-year-old South Huron teen, as well as an open liquor charge for a 35-year-old Bluewater man.
And on January 8th, a burnt headlight in Exeter lead to charges for a 28-year-old. Officers pulled over a man on Thames Road West, and while speaking with the driver the officer noted that the man had consumed alcohol.
A field sobriety test, as well as breath samples, proved that the man was indeed impaired. A Dashwood man is now facing impaired driving charges.
