Reaction to the news of the death of Rush drummer Neil Peart continue to pour in.
Grand Bend resident and drummer for the rock band Honeymoon Suite, Dave Betts, tells myFM that he was shocked to hear about Peart’s passing of brain cancer on January 7th at the age of 67.
Betts says Peart’s ability to write lyrics transformed Rush from a regular three-piece band into something more profound.
He says he remembers seeing Rush in concert when Peart had just joined the band and believes Peart became a more fluid player as time went on.
Betts says, unfortunately, he never met Peart personally but he and other members of Honeymoon Suite did work with those who were connected to Rush.
Peart died in Santa Monica, California and is survived by his wife and daughter.
