myFM’s Hooray for Coaches is taking place today and we are profiling South Huron Minor Soccer Coach Marty Debruyn.
Marty says he’s played soccer his whole life and coaching seemed like a natural transition especially when he children started playing and coaches were needed.
He’s had teams win championships, but Debruyn says his coaching highlight took place last season when a player worked hard all season and scored their first goal in the championship game.
Debruyn says at the end of the day coaching comes down to the kids having fun, and working on life lessons along the way.
