Over 4,000 dwellings will be receiving broadband internet in Lambton County over the next few months.
Cogeco and Execulink were granted contracts from the province to continue their work on installation and informing residents of the internet availability.
The project will be procured by Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology, a not-for-profit corporation focused on rural broadband internet.
Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton says their commitment to SWIFT played a role in this announcement.
McNaughton says he’s heard from his constituents on a number of occasions their need to travel to a library or Tim Hortons in order to have reliable internet that wasn’t available in their home.
