There have been at least 3 deaths involving snowmobilers in Ontario this season. In each case police say excessive speed was a major factor.
Constable Matt Elliot is an OPP off roading and marine enforcement officer. He says one thing all snowmachine drivers must do is expect danger on the trails they ride.
Elliott also says general conditions of snowmobile trails are unpredictable this winter because of the constraint freeze thaw cycle.
So bottom line … Don’t ride beyond your level of skill and always wear a helmet.
