As Part of Fridays province-wide teacher strikes, members from the local ETFO, OSSTF and OECTA unions all gathered outside of MPP Lisa Thompson’s office in Blyth.
Hundreds lined Blyths main drag for a full day of protests.
Shane Restall, OSSTF Teacher President for the AMDSB says members are all fighting to protect Ontario’s schools, especially ones in rural Ontario.
Restall says that despite the cold temperatures, spirits were high among union members as they walked up and down Blyth’s main drag.
He adds that he still remains optimistic about the negotiating process, and hopes that these protests strengthen the unions voices.
