As talks continue to happen between the province and teacher unions, the tension ramps up with it.
Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson doesn’t feel that they’re under the gone to get a deal done, and their focus is on getting kids in classrooms, making concessions along the way to do so.
Thompson referenced Minister of Education Stephen Lecce’s announced changes to the province’s stance on class-sizes and e-learning that prove they’re doing what they can to reach contract agreements.
On Thursday (12) afternoon the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association announced a tentative agreement with the province, suspending their job action, leaving the OSTF and ETFO as the remaining unions on strike.
