United Way Perth-Huron have made a few changes due to COVID-19.
Their annual Spirit of the Community night which marks the end of their fundraising campaign has been moved to a 30 minute Facebook Live presentation, to avoid the gathering of a large group.
Executive Director Ryan Erb encourages people to still purchase tickets as it’s considered a donation and you’ll be given a tax receipt for it.
In addition, they’ve kickstarted an online resource to help out those in the community during these tough times.
Erb says they’re $13,000 shy of reaching their fundraising goal, but understand it’s going to be a difficult situation financially for the next little while with the economic impact of the virus.
