Prime Minister Justin Trudeau continued his daily announcements today.
He reiterated the importance of social distancing and warned everyone to do it as if you don’t you put others at risk.
Trudeau says we will start by educating people, and they are launching a federal advertising campaign to reach everyone with faces people recognize, but the Prime Minister mentioned if laws are needed to ensure social distancing that is possible.
He said that the House of Commons will meet to approve the $82 billion in spending announced last week, but Trudeau also announced $5 billion in lending for farmers and producers through Farm Credit Canada.
$192 million is going towards vaccines, but the reality is it will take months to develop and test, which is why Universities and Colleges have been reached out to in order to aid however possible.
Trudeau also mentioned that flights are coming for Canadians abroad, and confirmed flights to Peru, Spain, Honduras, Ecuador, El Salvador, and Morocco.
The Prime Minister also praised the decision from Olympic and Paralympic officials for announcing that they won’t be competing in the summer games.
Lastly, Trudeau said it is important to keep connected with seniors in our families via text, phone call, and video chat means…even sending a shout out to his father-in-law who is celebrating his birthday today.
