Huron and Bruce Counties will receive over $1.5 million from the Ontario Government due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through the Provincial Government’s Social Services Relief Fund, Huron county will receive $708,100 and Bruce County will receive $893, 600 for social service providers such as homeless shelters, emergency services, food banks, charities and nonprofits.
This will be to support the delivery of critical services, hiring additional staff, acquiring more personal protection equipment and finding ways to self-isolate and keep people safe and healthy.
Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson says that assessing this funding quickly is paramount in today’s constantly changing environment.
