News of the provincial government slowly easing restrictions on a number of non-essential businesses is music to the ears of the Huron Chamber of Commerce.
Businesses such as nurseries and lawn care are being permitted to open with certain restrictions, and places like marinas and golf courses will only be allowed to operate for preparation and maintenance.
Executive Director Mark Woodward tells myFM the Ford government is allowing some of these businesses to open in a responsible way.
Many businesses remain closed as the state of emergency is into its eighth week.
Woodward says some businesses have found a new way to make money and be profitable by producing other types of products that they normally would not make.
He says while he remains optimistic that they will recover from the pandemic, he has heard from those who are still worried about not having enough to pay the bills each month.
