The federal government says it will provide loans and financing to the country’s largest employers to help them weather the COVID-19 economic crisis. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the credit is so these large businesses can stay open and keep employees on their payrolls.
Trudeau says if a company wants to access the taxpayer funded financing they will need to support the employees not the high paid executives. The new program is aimed at companies with $300-million or more in revenues.
